Cain May Have Killed Abel… But He Also Can Make Some MEAN Chicken! – July 23, 2011

We had to get to the church a little earlier this morning… unfortunate but not altogether unpleasant.  I must say our OBers were troopers and arrived on time, ready to do their hour with God and ready themselves for the day ahead of us… and let me tell you… it was a doozy… but a good sort of doozy… so DON’T WORRY.  I know you were… I could see it in your eyes.  After all of our students arrived at the...

OB, Blue Ridge Parkway Team, July 23 – I like it very MULCH!

Our morning reunion with our fellow Barnabas members (since all three of our teams are here in the Columbus area) was a great way to start off our busy day today! In preparation for leading the services at GBC of Columbus tomorrow, all three teams got together to run through some details. After all of that was taken care of, we entered into a time of debriefing until noon. TK taught the students about taking what they have learned back into...

July 23- OB Team National- The Last National Program

Today was another hot one in the Columbus, Ohio area. Today brought all three OB teams together once again as tour draws closer to the end. First off, the teams united to practice for choir tomorrow for the two services we will do. Rebecca R. has a solo for one of the songs. July 22- OB Team National- It's Friday, Friday, Friday

After an hour with the kids we had team time where all the students filled out evaluation forms for themselves to assess their spiritual growth throughout the summer....

Today we had a huge thunder and lightning storm in Powell… and the first syllable of “Powell” … I don’t know if you know this… it’s “POW!”  So, you see it ties in quite nicely with the happenings of the day…. being a thunder storm in Powell… making “Pow” noises in a city that just happens to contain the same sound in it’s spelling. Today, OBers...

OB, Blue Ridge Parkway Team, July 22 – This is my SCHOOL!

We have departed from Norton and have arrived in Columbus, OH…or Worthington to be more precise. For all of our Worthington Christian students, this is familiar territory because we are staying at their high school. After the students arrived at the church from their host homes, they spent the first part of the morning in God’s word, reading Psalm 136 and then responding by writing their own “Psalm 136” based on their lives...

These Are Some Quality Apples! – July 21, 2011

We found ourselves this morning, faced with a warning.  This warning presented the prospect of today being one of the hottest days ever in Columbus Ohio… and what were we planning on doing today?  Just spending seven hours outdoors… no. big. deal.  Heres the deal… it wasn’t that bad… but I take back any complaint I had for the humidity in Florida or Georgia because Ohio… well let’s just say Ohio is most...
