Here We GO!!!!! Orientation June 17
Operation Barnabas student orientation has officially begun!! All the students have arrived safely at the Grace Brethren church here in Lititz, PA and our work here is under way! We as leaders are so excited to put faces with the names of people we have been praying for for months now. We could not be more excited that they are here!
Students from all across the country made their way to the church today as leaders were busy preparing, making airport trips, giving tours and interacting with students. The students are adjusting well and their time is being used effectively from the beginning!
After settling in to their sleeping rooms the students got involved in making build up posters for the churches we will visit over the summer and getting to know each other. Once registration was almost over, the OBers played some silly “get to know you” games while the parents spent time in an informational meeting with TK, Sherilyn, Sarah, Alex and Jeremy. After the parent’s meeting the students were allowed some time for “goodbyes” before they made their way to their first ever choir practice. The first practice went well and it is evident that God has blessed us from the beginning with some talent! We are continuing to pray that students learn quickly and that things only get better from here!
After the first choir practice we had an awesome dinner provided by Lititz Grace (THANK YOU!!!!) and then went back for another choir practice. From there, we transitioned into our first challenge session where we got to hear some awesome stories of how the Lord provided for many of our students to be here. TK, Alex, Jeremy and Sarah then spent time talking about the name Barnabas and what it means in the Bible and in our ministry. It was an awesome time of sharing, worship, and challenge! After the challenge hour, we were able to have some discussions and get some much deserved shut eye!
Today we are thankful for many things, but especially for the safe arrival of all of our students! We are SO thankful for your prayers thus far for our students and us leaders! We humbly ask that you continue in prayer for our ministry this summer, for us as leaders, and especially for the hearts of your students as they learn and are stretched in new ways. If I haven’t said it enough times, we are EXCITED that the students are here and that our summer can begin!
