Today has been an incredible day! It has been another FULL day with lots of preparation and outreach training, but we are very grateful for the students attitudes and the way their hearts are already being worked on!
The day began with the students having an hour with God.  This was a first for our students here at orientation so far, so this time was refreshing and students came back energized and renewed.  After the hour, we spent some time as a group sharing about our experience with God. This time was awesome and the students are definitely beginning to understand more about God and His Word!
From there, we split up into guys and girls groups to work on sermon and children’s story preparation.  The students spent this time well and are getting more and more prepared to begin our Operation Barnabas tours… and it’s only day two! 🙂 After our time with sermon and story preparation, we got the chance to spend more time listening to Ed talk about how to do outreach to people who do not know Jesus. We had lunch in between one of the outreach sessions and another, and it was an awesome time of learning and growth for our students.  It is great to watch them learn about how to talk to those that have no hope in Jesus!
For the few hours before dinner, we had choir practice, more sermon and story preparation, and we also began to learn this year’s speech choir.  Dinner tonight was provided by Lititz Grace’s youth group and it was awesome. They catered in Chick-Fil-A and it was delicious. 🙂 (Thank you Lititz Grace youth!!!!)
After dinner was over we were able to experience something very unique and challenging for most students. They were able to spend a little over an hour role playing evangelism and it was awesome!  We as leaders and some of the members of the Lititz Grace church came and role played people who did not know Jesus, and small groups of students got to practice all of the outreach training they have been learning about. I know I said it was awesome already, but it really was awesome! Students did a great job and are learning some awesome things from Ed’s teaching and, more importantly, God shaping their hearts for the lost. It is becoming evident that that heart is growing, and we anticipate it being a great summer of learning and growth for these students!
The last part of the day was another main session with Ed. This time was incredible for the students and their walk with the Lord. It was awesome to see and hear the students open up to each other and us as leaders, and we are praying that that will continue throughout the summer.
Thank you again for your continued prayers!
