The halls were filled with excitement and joy today as TK announced the team divisions for the summer!!
Prior to the announcement of team divisions the students began their day with Ed finishing his teaching on outreach. He gave the students pointers on how to talk with people from different religions that they will encounter this summer such as Catholicism. The students are excited to go out on tour and use the things they have learned about outreach! Following outreach training, the students quickly headed to choir. These students have come so far and choir sounded AMAZING today!!! They stood in choir formation and sang without their music, which was a first for this group.
Following a delicious lunch the students spent time doing opportunities around the church. There were students cleaning lockers, vacuuming, taking out the trash, etc. The students headed to what they thought would be speech choir practice. After running through it twice, TK said that the only thing that would make speech choir easier would be dividing them into teams! Many screamed and jumped for joy before heading out to the big blue bus in search for which side their picture was on. After the leaders switched their own groupings they finally landed on the correct side of the bus and the TEAMS WERE ANNOUNCED!!
Each team spent time during the afternoon practicing their first dramas, puppet songs, and pantomimes. The building was filled with smiles as students were finally able to being practicing these fun activities that will be used for ministry this summer! The teams were then able to step outside and head to a pool party at the homes of some families from Lititz Grace. Each team spent time swimming, eating, fellowshipping, and spending time getting to know one another. Thank you to the Bendinsky and Landis family for opening up your homes to us tonight!
Tonight the students were able to hear a powerful message from Sarah about fear and how it grips us. She discussed about how the fear of the unknown, Satan’s schemes, and failure grips our lives and pulls us away from the Lord. We all took the time to write down our fear and give it over to the Lord! The night finished out with team meetings that were centered around setting goals for the summer. God is going to do great things in and through our teams and we are excited to see that happen! Please be praying for our teams as we begin to work on our programming puppets and dramas.
