Today was a very long but rewarding day for Team 314. Following our hour with God we loaded the bus and headed towards Watkins High School for manual labor. The church contacted the high school a few months back and asked if we could work with them to do manual labor for a couple hours. We joined forces with members of Pataskala Grace Brethren to accomplish many projects for the school. Cleaning the cross country track, painting parking lot lines, moving desks, cleaning lockers, picking up trash, and cleaning lockers is just the surface of what we accomplished today! Pataskala even took the opportunity to grill hot dogs for lunch for each person who was working there (Thank you for lunch!!). The principle shared with us that we accomplished 400 man hours today and we did so much more than the maintenance employees could ever do.  Being able to do manual labor alongside members of Pataskala Grace Brethren was a great way to shine God’s light to the principle of Watkins High School!
Our afternoon was spent canvassing the local neighborhood around the park where our park program would be held later. Though we were not able to talk to many people, we took the opportunity to pray that God would use our program for His glory. We saw God do just that as we watched many people from the community and the church come to our park program.  Michael, Tommy, and Anne made many balloon animal hats before the program as children began to arrive while others mingled and spent time getting to know those who were there. Our program was full of energy and our students did a great job of getting the crowd involved! One of the highlights of our program is the Cross Illustration as we are able to share the Gospel in a very clear and visual way. Michael and Nick were able to lead three individuals to the Lord! We celebrated as we watched three people walk from death to life tonight!!
As a team we returned to the church where Pastor Mike and Margaret provided our team with pizza for dinner. Throughout our time here we have blessed by the hospitality of the Pataskala Grace Brethren family! Since today was such a long day it is very evident that we only made it through by the strength and joy of Christ. We are thankful that He provided for our team in that way today!
