Today has been an awesome day of ministry partnering with the people of Movement Church! We began the day by heading over to Mark and Kristin Artrip’s house for the morning to spend an hour with God and to get organized into groups to head out to different sites. We split up our group into three groups, and each group went to a different lunch site partnering with SON Ministries. We spent all of our morning and early afternoon there with the staff, volunteers, and students that are a part of each of these site programs. At each site we did programming, games, and ate lunch, but most importantly we were able to interact with the kids and adults that participate in SON ministry during the summer. This was an awesome time for our students to interact with a different crowd than usual and to get to share their faith with the people there. Some people even came to know the Lord through our time there today!
After the day programs at the different sites closed, we all headed back to the Artrip’s to hear about Movement. Mark talked about how it started, his heart for his church and the community. Other members of their launch team also talked about their hearts for ministry and the different ways they partner with Movement.
When we were done with Q&A time we headed out to different neighborhoods in the community to do a prayer walk. We prayed over Movement, the coaches and specific people involved in Movement, outreach events they are doing, and the community as a whole. It was an encouraging hour to be able to spend talking to the Lord and praying expectantly for Him to do more than we can ask or imagine in this town of Hilliard.
After the prayer walk, students were picked up by their host homes for dinner and some more time to get to know one another.┬áIt has been awesome to be able to partner with Movement and get to do ministry alongside some of it’s members today.
It is hard to believe that we are coming to a close on our summer shortly, but we ask that you continue to pray that the hearts and lives of these students on Team 123 will be stretched and that God would continue to work in and through them. Thank you for your continued prayers!
P.S. Because we spent the entire day separated, we don’t have any pictures currently.. That may change, but if not, we’re sorry. Goodnight!
