Orientation June 23 – Bearing Fruit Already!

Today was filled with many wonderful stories. It is the day before we officially leave for tour and God has already began to use these 2014 Operation Barnabas teams to change lives.
This morning the students were led in a devotional by Stacie (former OB leader), where they learned what it meant to be full of the Holy Spirit and live by faith. Little did the students know, God was about to use them in a huge way just a few hours later. Both teams went to two separate laundry mats so they could begin tour tomorrow with fresh clothes. All of the students went out of their ways to talk to people at the laundry mat. A young mother, who was homeless with three children, accepted Christ today! We ask that you pray for this family. They now have hope in Jesus Christ. Another young boy said he wanted Jesus to come into his heart after a few of the girls walked him through “the cross illustration” with him. This was an illustration that Ed Lewis showed the students. The leaders here are so proud of your students and are excited to see what God is going to do through this group.
Lunch today was provided by Lancaster Bible College. They provided us with Chik-fil-a and gave every student a free water bottle. The teams then spent many hours in prep for their dances, puppets shows, and dramas. They are all coming together and ready to be shown to those in need of encouragement. After practicing for many hours the teams spent time reviewing in front of their teams. The North East team had the opportunity to help lead a devotional for the church’s basketball outreach program. They had the opportunity to share their faith with many men. Students have been shocked at the power of the gospel. They have seen that it is possible to lead people to Christ. All they have to do, is be willing. A few more men made decisions tonight! Praise God! Please pray for these men, that they will get connected with the church and begin to thrive in their relationships with Christ and bring their families along with them.
We ended tonight in communion. This was a great way to end our time together as one team. Tomorrow we head our separate ways and begin a new journey. Please pray for both teams as they travel long distances. Until Tomorrow…
