Florida – July 10 Camp-aigning For Christ

Today was chock-full of programs – two at the church and one at a local handicap aid facility (LARC). Our first crew was from the children’s school and daycare next-door. They were in the middle of their summer camp program and were able to join us in the morning for some fun. Shortly after the program, we packed up and headed off to LARC to do a program for mentally and physically handicapped individuals. The leaders were overjoyed to see the way the students went out of their comfort zones and ministered in situations where they often did not know how to even communicate basic questions clearly.
We said our goodbyes to the residents and headed off to a local orange plantation where there were plenty of fresh-squeezed juices and orange-flavored snacks for us to try. Many students got their first taste of fresh, Florida oranges. What a treat! From there, we went to a nature walk for an hour with God. Students walked the boardwalk to find alligators, turtles, fish and a variety of birds. The short refresher there prepared us for the rest of the evening back at the church.
We grabbed a quick bite to eat for dinner before community members began showing up for our third program of the day. Outside, we had face-painting, balloon animals, music and the bounce house. The party moved inside around 7:45 pm for the concluding program which had the whole place dancing and getting excited for hearing from God. All of our students did well today being the hands and feet of Christ. Thanks for partnering with us in prayer today – the only times it rained were when we were already inside and staying there for a while. Today was a real blessing and refresher for the entire team. Tomorrow, to Sebring!
