OBI- July 15- Goodbye for Now

Sorry for the delay in posting- we lost electric for most of the last night! Please continue to pray for the weather and that our flights would still be on schedule today. For now enjoy an update from Anne!
Our last full day on Boracay was very bittersweet and memorable. This morning we took the boat over to the Masa Ati School on Panay for the last time. We got to help paint walls and cabinets for the school. We all got a little messy but had an awesome time serving with the construction team. It is so exciting to see all of the construction projects that have been finished in the short time we have been here.
At lunch time we had the opportunity to say goodbye to all of the darling Ati school kids that stole our hearts this summer. We sang some worship songs with them and they all gave us cards that they made for us. The teachers and children at the school expressed their thanks to us for everything that we had done to serve them and we express our thanks to them for filling us with such joy and love. It was so hard to say goodbye to these kids but so good to hug them and tell them how much we love them. Although we may never see them again, we know that we are leaving them in good hands at the school and that Jesus loves them more than we can imagine. We will be praying not only for their physical and educational growth but also for their spiritual growth.
After we left Panay we had a relaxing afternoon back at the Vista. Because of the rain we couldn’t go out anywhere but it was nice to stay in and get some team time. We played some of our favorite card games and just laughed and talked. We also used this time to pack up and prepare for the travel that begins tomorrow.
We had reservations to go out to eat tonight at Mongolian Barbeque but because of the stormy weather we were not able to get a ride to the restaurant.  However that was not enough to stop us! We put on out big girl/boy ponchos and walked down the beach. When we made it to the restaurant we were famished so we at bowls and bowls of the awesome Mongolian Barbeque. It was totally worth the walk through the typhoon. 🙂 We rode trikes home and now we are safe and sound and we have milkshakes.
