July 10-Team Indiana in Goshen
This morning after our hour with God our students had a change of pace from what we have been doing for the past three days. We split up into groups so that we could more effectively help the church. Our students help set up chairs in both the link and in the main sanctuaries. Trimming bushes and weeding, mowing and prepping for Momentum were some other jobs as well. Some of our students were able to go to the Welling’s home to help clean screens and windows. He also took out students to one of the first buildings that Grace Community occupied and was able to share some history of the ministry.
We were able to grab some lunch to go and head back to the church for an encouragement circle where we were able to lift each other up. We then transitioned into mail time where in order to receive their mail they had to drink a concoction lovingly named “The Leaders Left Overs.” In reality it was chocolate cake, flatbread, lettuce, and barbeque sauce. As a rule the leaders will never ask the students to do anything that the leaders will not do themselves. So we swallowed more than our pride to drink this disgusting milkshake.
After this the students met with Brandon for a teaching time on taming the tongue by looking at gossip and slander. We also looked at a biblical view at how to hold our tongue. Soon after we said goodbye to the pastors who saw us off and headed out for our next stop at Sun Light Community in Angola. As soon as we arrived we met with Pastor John and headed to a pool party to meet the youth group teens and some of the men and women from the congregation. The students were split into host homes at the end of the night and will be rested for tomorrow!
Many Praises and Good Night from Team Indiana
