Team Ohio- July 19
Team Ohio is back and running full force for their last week of tour. Since last tuesday, we took a hiatus from each other while all of the students joined with their youth groups for Momentum, a week long youth conference. The theme was Relentless which was based off of Daniel 3:28 which says, ” They trusted in Him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.” The week was filled with plenty of worship, dancing, laughing, sports tournaments, and incredible talks from multiple speakers. Friday night, both OB teams even had an opportunity to have a worship night at Momentum where they were able to sing choir songs, read scripture, and spend some time in group prayer. After the final session Saturday night, our team regrouped and hopped on the bus excited to spend this last week together finishing strong in Jesus’ name.
We arrived at Warsaw Community Grace and quickly unpacked the bus, in order that we could all head to bed. We all awoke this morning tired but excited to lead our last sunday worship service as a team. Nikalena was able to share her object lesson about thankfulness, and Eurella was able to share her thoughts on Philippians 3:5-11 and how all things in life are worthless compared to Christ. After service we were served a delicious authentic Mexican meal by some members of the congregation. Our afternoon of team time was filled with nap time, debriefing about Momentum, and individual quiet time with the Lord. We regrouped around 5:00 to have pulled pork sandwiches followed by ice cream.
Following dinner, we all got on the bus and headed to Center Park to have our last park program. Part of the team set it up while the rest headed out to invite kids to the program. It was a hot night of a lot of dancing and puppets, but God showed up and allowed some pretty incredible and encouraging conversations to occur. A few of the kids that were there asked Jesus into their lives, and the gospel was able to be shared with a lot of the bystanders at the park. It was a long and sweaty day, and as it came to a close we decided there was no other way to end it than by taking hose showers. Therefore, everyone put on bathing suits and headed outside with soap and shampoo to get cleaned up. After hose showers, we had quick team debriefing about the evening before heading to bed.
Please pray for tomorrow and the ministry that we will continue to do in Warsaw, IN. Also, please pray for the students as they begin to prepare to go home as our tour ends next Monday.
Goodnight from Team Ohio and God Bless!
