Team Ohio- July 22, 2015
This morning in Berne, the boys were served a hearty breakfast of pancakes, sausage and gravy, donuts, and fruit. By 8:30, the girls had all arrived from their host homes and everyone sat down to spend an hour with God. For the rest of the morning, the entire team wiped down the entire bus and everything in it with soap and warm water. A few students on our team have poison ivy, and we wanted to make sure that the students were not getting it from the bus.
We had a full afternoon ahead of us so we fueled up with chicken salad and pulled pork sandwiches. Some students headed to some more church members’ houses to do more yard work while others headed out to canvas more houses around the community. After everyone was done, everyone headed to a square that had fountains that is in the middle of the town to talk to people that were there because it was such a beautiful day. The students all headed back to the church where they played telephone charades in teams, and it was a blast. Following the game, everyone sat down and heard from Nicole about encouragement and what it looks like.
The hospitality committee made delicious homemade lasagnas for dinner. Following dinner, we headed out back to set up for last and final program. The students gave it their all and some of the leaders even joined in behind the puppet stage to help out. It was a long evening as we hopped on the bus around 9:00 to head to Columbus, Ohio for debriefing. When we arrived, we quickly unpacked and went to bed ready to get up and go to Happy Hearts, a horse-back riding camp for children with special needs.
Please pray for Bethel Brethren Church. It was a great last stop for us, and we were so blessed by it. Pray that God will continue to work in that community and bless the church. Pray also for energy for the students tomorrow. Today was a busy day and a late night, and we have a busy day also planned for tomorrow.
Goodnight from Team Ohio and God Bless!
