Team Ohio- July 25, 2015
We began our day this morning by getting ready and spending an hour with the Lord. Following this, we hopped on the bus and headed to an area of Columbus called the Short North. This is a cool and artsy area close to downtown filled with all sorts of shops and places to eat. Everyone ate lunch at North Market, which is a large eclectic market that has a wide variety of international cuisines. The leaders sat down in the market to finish the final exit interviews, while the rest of the team was given money to bless a stranger while walking around the short north. When we regrouped as a team, the students had so many great stories of ways that they were able to bless those around them monetarily but also spiritually through conversations and prayer.
We hurried up and quickly ran by the church to change clothes because both teams decided to go to the 4:00 service at Grace Fellowship in Pickerington, Ohio. The message was given by Keith Minier, and it was so applicable to our students’ lives as they head home. He used Nehemiah 8:1-8 to speak on how we as Christians should be giving more value to the word of God than we do because it is God’s breath that we are reading.
For the evening, both teams regrouped together for a pizza dinner and to complete the DISC personality test. It is a test that reveals which personality type that lean towards most, out of dominance, influence, steady, or compliant. To end out the evening, the students were able to share their devotionals and object lessons with each other before praying as a team for our day tomorrow.
Please pray for tomorrow’s church service. Pray for receptive hearts in the congregation, and that the students of both teams will be bold in their conversations. Pray also for our evening tomorrow. It is our last night as a team, and it will be hard for everyone to prepare to say goodbye.
Goodnight from Team Ohio and God Bless!
