One thing that encourages us is when other fellow believers encourage us in our walk with the Lord and in this little season of being on Operation Barnabas. When we arrived at the church, Jake, another campus ministry pastor shared his testimony with us today. He shared about how even though he had a plan and was trying to turn away from the Lord’s plan for him, the Lord won and he is now serving him faithfully. It was an encouragement to us all because we don’t know what life will be like in a year or even 5 years but we have to trust in God and his plan and listen to him and not turn our hearts away.
Alone time was followed and than after that we headed to Lancaster, Ohio, Fairfield Community Action Agency and than some of us went to their other other location which was 10 minutes away. A few people were inside helping with their clothing pantry (sorting and more sorting) while everyone else weeded. Tons and tons and tons of weeding. I think it is a good reminder to show the kids that although we may not be interacting with people, that helping them out with tasks is such an important thing and that is such a huge blessing to them.
After our work projects, we headed to a park where the Pickerington church was having a gathering called First Wednesdays, and attendance actually doubled this time around. Praise the Lord! We did our program along with doing face painting, cotton candy, snowcones and other games. We were super impressed by all the conversations that were initiated by the kids and how much time flew by because of how much fun we were having.
After all of the fun that our day entailed, we sent our kids back to host home to get some sleep before we head out to Pittsburgh tomorrow. Wohoo.
Good night world!!!
Love team buckey.
