Pittsburgh bound! After meeting together in the morning from host homes, we were headed to the beautiful city of Pittsburgh. It took us about five hours which during that time we had alone time with God, enjoyed some extended bus time (with some naps thrown in) and breaker for a delicious lunch at Primanti Brothers- a fun restaurant with a Pittsburgh Flare.
We then arrived at Urban Impact- a ministry that serves the youth of the community where we had the opportunity to assist them in a variety of ways. Part of group worked on constructing sets for their drama program. Another group helped move some of the volunteer’s offices within the building. A few brave souls risked getting painted again and worked hard painting ladders for an upcoming performance in their drama department. Another group had the opportunity to help set up and serve food for a baseball banquet held at the facility. After a great afternoon we were welcomed to the home of Orchard Hill satellite campus pastor Joel Haldeman and his wife Amy. The Haldemans graciously fed our crazy bunch and even made a fire for s’mores
