Cody Ray, the Youth Pastor and Children’s Director of Connection Christian Church in York, Pennsylvania, is the administrative leader for the East OB team. Cody began his OB experience as a student in 2009 and then served as a leader on the Florida Peninsula team in 2011. He and his wife Megan met as students at Lancaster Bible College and have two young children, Rylee and Caleb. Cody has served on staff at Connection Christian for the past 7 years and was the recipient of CE National’s Youth Pastor of the Year Award at Momentum 2018. He has a heart for leadership and discipleship and loves to see people move to their next level in life.
Heidi Bedford is from Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Grace College in 2011 and had the privilege of leading Operation Barnabas in 2012, 2013, and 2018. She is currently a 4th grade Language Arts and Bible teacher at Grace Christian School. Heidi attends Grace Fellowship in Pickerington, where she volunteers in the student ministries program and leads a high school girls’ small group as well as an adult Bible study. She says she is so excited for the opportunity to lead OB for the fourth time!
Samantha Kuiper is an elementary school teacher in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Grace College in 2015 and has lived in Honduras, Central America, for the last 3 years. She taught kindergarten and 6th grade in a bilingual school in rural Honduras for students who would not normally have had the opportunity for a quality education. She moved to Philadelphia with her husband Josiah this year and has been teaching the 3rd grade. Samantha is an OB alum from 2010 and is excited to be returning as a leader this year! She is passionate about showing God’s unconditional love to everyone by reaching the lost, seeking justice for those without a voice, and serving the forgotten and overlooked. She cannot wait to be a part of what God has planned this summer!
Alec McLean grew up in Columbus, Ohio at Grace Polaris Church and graduated from Grace College with a degree in Entrepreneurial Management. Alec was on OB as a student in 2012 and is incredibly passionate about church ministry and excited to take part in leading OB. He says his OB tour changed his life and is looking forward to see how God is going to change not only lives of the students and leaders, but people in the local churches and communities we will work with.
Alyssa Tassia is from York, Pennsylvania, and is excited to be starting her senior year at Lancaster Bible College (LBC) in the Social Work program. After graduation, she hopes to be able to work in a retirement community or nursing home setting in the Lancaster area. In the meantime, she waitresses on the weekends at a small family restaurant and works during the day in the Admissions office at LBC. She has been going to Connection Christian Church since she entered high school, and has remained involved in the student ministry since she’s graduated. Though she’s not been on an OB tour, she’s gotten to see them in action and is excited for what is in store!
